History
Ø The Library at Government City College, Nayapul, has a century-long history, having been established in 1921. It offers a variety of reading materials, including textbooks, reference books, journals, magazines, newspapers, rare books, e-books, e-journals, and more than 1500 CDs. The library is partially automated and uses the New GENLIB and DSpace Open Source software for management. The library subscribes to INFLIBNET's N-LIST and the National Digital Library for access to millions of e-books and e-journals. The library also organizes literary competitions, orientation programs, special book exhibitions, and career guidance for students and staff.

Ø To acquire, organise, preserve and
disseminate information and resources to support the teaching and learning
needs of faculty and students.
Objectives
- Extend the support to teaching, learning and research initiatives of the college
- Provide access to Internet, OPAC, e-resources and the Computerized services to the patrons
- Provide career and employment information resources to the users
- Create a suitable ambience for optimum usage of library resources
- Assist the users in retrieval of reading materials and e-resources
- Inculcate and development of reading habits among the users
Functions:

Users:
The patrons of
library include all the students of (UG
& PG ) on roll, teaching faculty and non-teaching staff. It has 4500 Under
Graduate students (UG & PG ), 60 teaching and 15 non teaching staff to
serve.
Library
Timings:
a) On Working Days: The college library is kept open to the students and staffs from
9.30 am to 4:30 pm.
b) On Holidays: The library will remain closed on General Holidays, National,
Gazetted and Local holidays.
